odt.co.nz/opinion/embrac… Over ten thousand cruise passengers come to use the railway and each one spends hundreds of dollars. Those dollars go to business owners and pay wages. Employees spend in the local community. They pay tax. They pay mortgages and rent. Rail pays!

I will be speaking on restoring passenger rail to New Zealand at 4.00pm, 9th March 2024 at Morning Magpies (Maggies) Stuart Street, Dunedin. Passenger rail can be frequent, fast and affordable on existing track by importing technologies and ideas from Japan.
