Before the Easter Holidays, it was DT week when Year 4 practised their vegetable chopping skills, making a delicious ratatouille!

The Sports Leaders visited Dovery on Friday 25th April to organise a mini Festival for  Year 3 and Year 4 children. The archery and the blindfold activities were a lot of fun!

Pre-School have been reading 'What the Ladybird Heard’ by Julia Donaldson. The children went outside to listen to the story (with added actions by Niamh and Madi as the robbers) and then searched in the woods to see if they could find a ladybird!

Year 1 and 3 set off to London last week to learn more about Parliament and Democracy as they visited Westminster Abbey. The education lead was so impressed and told us that she had never know children so young knowing all about The Magna Carta! Well done everyone, a great day!

Year 2 visited The Natural History Museum in London on Monday where they had the opportunity to extend their learning about space! The children loved the interactive parts of the space exhibition, particularly the smells!

Last week’s Sports Day saw all children truly excelling. They embraced the Spirit of the Games values. A highlight was seeing Year 4 pupils warmly support the youngest children as they shared their success. Well done to all, and thank you to families for your support!

It’s been wonderful to see everyone back, happy and excited to learn! In Friday’s assembly, many proudly shared their Summer Reading Challenge certificates and medals. We also celebrated the joy of sharing books - don’t forget about our KS1 & KS2 book exchanges!

Over the past year, the whole school has worked hard to put sustainability at the heart of what we do. We’re so proud to share that we’ve been awarded the Eco Schools Green Flag with distinction! Huge well done to our Eco Councillors and the whole community!

Our first Celebration Assembly took place on Friday! It was lovely to welcome families and celebrate the children’s achievements. Well done to all our award winners!

Lots of children have volunteered for roles of responsibility across the school, from Team Captains to School Councillors, Librarians and Road Safety Officers. A great start to the year!
