Can't seem to settle today. Nowhere is quite comfy enough and people keep going by disturbing me.

We went somewhere new today. Southwick Beach. Looks lovely out to sea but back on land is the Port of Shoreham and Southwick Power Station which are not so lovely. But at least it is quiet - no one in sight in this bit. And there is a nice tea room.

Odd encounter this morning. A woman we see sometimes came up and said: "Oh your tag says you're called Dougal. For the past 2 years I thought your name was Dough Ball. I told my husband. He said 'are you sure? It's an odd name for a dog'" Well really do I look like a Dough Ball!

Well, he made a mess of parking that car.

Lunch in a lovely cafe at Fiveways. They had quiche and salad and very lovely it looked too. Not that they let me have any. Typical.

What a swizz. Apparently, inland has been sunny. It's been grey here. Really grey. Definitely not the day to go up the i360 observation thingie. But it still seems to be running.

Went to vets this morning. I felt very sleepy soon after I got there. When I woke up, I was wearing this strange one-piece coat I had never seen before. They say it is because I have had the snip. No doubt all will be revealed in the fullness of time.

I'm only allowed to go for 15 minute walks on the lead following my op. So, no running in the park or on the beach. But we did go down to Hove Lawns today. They had tea and cake. And I got just one little treat. Still, at least it was cool under the table.

I am much better. Thank you. So we went out to lunch. They said let's go to The Reading Room. Really? Do they do food? Well it turns out they do and very good it looked too. I had my own though. It looks out to sea at Black Rock and the little Volks Railway runs in front.

Went to see the lovely lady vet today to see how I am doing after my little op. Everything's fine. I have the all clear to be off the lead and even better I don't have to wear that funny coat they gave me. Though I might keep it for special occasions as it is very slimming.

We went to the beach by Hove Lagoon this afternoon. Not that there was much beach there as the tide was in. But excitingly, there were lots of cuttlefish. They are great fun to run around with and then chew. Yummy!

May I come in? I have brought my favourite ball. Can we play indoors as it's raining outside?

A little outing today to Petworth because I'm a pet that's worth it. A lovely lunch too.

Back from the lovely lady groomer. Had a trim and a shampoo and set. Don't I look lovely? And so slim.

We had a party today. They seemed to be having fun with lots of lovely food, but did they share any with me? Did they buffalo.

Only another two weeks before the summer dog ban ends and I can go on this and all the other beaches. (And not have to trek to the one by Hove Lagoon ...)

Here I am outside the Co-op waiting while one of them goes in to get a few bits. Why can't I go in. I would be good and not jump up or generally make myself a nuisance.

This was disappointing. I chewed through the clear cover and found the bit inside wasn't food at all. And for some reason, I got told off.
