Today’s events of political violence are abhorrent. The unspeakable killing of Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark is devastating. Melissa dedicated her life to serving Minnesota. And this tragedy is heartbreaking for our state. They will be missed dearly.

Profound gratitude for law enforcement officers who spent countless hours keeping safe our members & bringing the man who attacked, wounded, &assassinated our colleagues into custody. Love to my Senate & House colleagues who will emerge from an active threat and begin to grieve.

After this weekend, it felt so good to be with my community tonight at the East Bank Neighborhood Partnership meeting giving updates with my colleagues Robin4mpls & Doron Clark We won’t let fear drive our politics, only our love for our community will.
