Bit of a surprise with the NHS pay settlement University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS FT ! If you retired before 31/3 you apparently don’t qualify for any back pay! My wife retired at the end of Dec so gets nothing for 9 months of the year - and 40 yrs + service! And part of this was supposed to be a thanks!

Wee bit excited! This time tomorrow will be en route to Cyprus! This will be our first proper holiday since 06/21! Missed other breaks due to emergency surgery, retirement and Mum’s passing. To say I’m ready for it is an understatement!! Might not check out X!

I thought retirement was supposed to be relaxing! Just finished cooking and hosting a roast chicken dinner for 3 of 4 children and spouses and 5 of 6 grandchildren! Hard work and a very noisy house!! But I wouldn’t change it for anything! Time for a double single malt!!
