After the mentorship session ISME - International Society for Microbial Ecology president @PhilHugenholtz kicks of #ISME19. It took almost 47 years for the symposium to come to Africa, it should have been earlier. Next, the opening plenary by Jill Banfield





Opening ceremony #ISME19 was worth the wait. @Thuls_M emphasised the need for global inclusivity celebrating the milestone achievement of ISME19 - with the largest number of delegates from Africa in any ISME conference. Julia Meltzer
