Cows are naturally protective of their calves. ⚠️ If you find yourself being approached or charged at by cattle while walking your dog, let go of the lead. Your dog is faster and more agile. They’ll run to safety. Trying to hold on can put you at greater risk.

Moved some of the cows and the calves to a small field we have in the woods, it was last grazed in September last year and is just full of life as well as grass #grass #cattle #insects #birds RBST

The Government's decision to delay building a new Royal Lancaster Infirmary at a more accessible site by 10 years is devastating news for people here in South Cumbria. In the House of Commons this afternoon, I urged the Health Minister to think again.

Astonishing that so few Tories turned up for the vital debate on sewage pollution just now. Such a shame too that the government opposed the Liberal Democrat proposal to strengthen the regulation of the water industry to prevent this outrageous pollution…

Regeneratively farmed beef cattle could sequester more carbon than they emit, shows a McDonald's UK project at @FAIFarms. And the robust data behind this, from @Agricarbon, will enable food businesses to back up their net zero balance with solid science. buff.ly/hfhyX19

1 in 5 of the UK’s care workforce have a non-British passport. Starmer would have us believe these carers are the “squalid” result of a “failed experiment”. I say they do vital, necessary, humane, skilled work and they are worth their weight in gold.

No Keir, we're angry with you. Immigrants didn't cut the Winter Fuel Allowance - you did. Immigrants didn't cut support payments for disabled people - you did. Immigrants didn't cut funding for farmers - you did. Stop scapegoating immigrants and start taking responsibility

This is scathing on the scrapping of APR "no consultation, impact assessment or affordability assessment was conducted ...This comes with a considerable risk of negative unintended consequences"

The UK emits around 406 million tonnes of carbon. The UK government owns around a million acres. If the government managed the land to double the Soil organic matter it could sequester 50+% of the UKs annual carbon emissions. Long grass and mosaic scrub not CO2 capture machines.

Yes Subsidies weren’t a favour for farmers They were life support for them in an exploitative system that paid them sub cost of production People haven’t understood The principal beneficiaries were big cooperations who get control and consumers who get cheap unhealthy food

Too often we hear that grazing ruminants are the worst part of our food system, when in reality they can be the best, delivering for diet, climate & nature. We need a more honest conversation about cows. scribehound.com/countryside/li…
