Ah ha! Found you! Great white mold in Arlington, WI! Always nice to see lines do well amid heavy pressure. Can’t wait to crunch the numbers.

Taproot decline, fungal disease of soybean. Symptoms include yellowing/interveinal chlorosis & necrosis of leaves. If plants are pulled from soil, most of roots will snap off & remain in the ground. A black discoloration can be seen on upper root system #Disease #fungi #Soybean

White mold is showing up under Nebraska soybean canopies. Scout anywhere you have a history of this disease, and consider management options.

It’s lovely to see all the bees hanging out in my squash flowers!!! But with the good, comes the bad. Squash bug eggs are showing up, but easily removed with duck tape.

In a field hit hard by white mold. Plot to the right rated a 5 on a 1-9 scale. The left one got a 9. If you had a field planted with the variety to the right, you might think “wow, I’ve got a lot of disease” yet you are getting protection compared to a susceptible line.

What happens below the soil surface is just as important for inoculum build-up. Some unearthed roots following the OVT harvest yesterday. Clear signs of the southern blight fungus on roots. Just because you don’t see the fungus on the crown doesn’t mean it’s not there #mscrops

It’s important to remember that many fungal pathogens are great saprophytes. Once a plant matures, they go to town on the dead tissue, breaking it down. Knowing how much damage was caused by a fungus during its pathogenic life style vs saprophytic is difficult.
