A bitter-sweet moment. My governors are looking for my successor. It is a relief to have finally told everyone. My last half term in school. Let’s see what the universe has to offer next.

The stress of this job is off the scale at the moment. 28 days and counting. I want my life back.

I got offered a position at a swimming school. Starting from the bottom but I’m so relieved someone is giving me a chance to start again! Happy and crying all at once.

This minimal service business should work both ways - we have expectations, too. Education and support services need to be funded properly.

Can anyone help: trying to get home eye test for someone who gets universal credit. Booking for home eye tests says you must have: income support, income related employment and support allowance or income based job seekers allowance. Can anyone tell me if they qualify?

Last day tomorrow. Feeling so many big feelings. But mainly anger that the education our children deserve is valued so little by government.

I could have written exactly the same. The crisis in retention is real and personal. I would have loved to continue but I don’t want to die before my retirement age like my mum did, or continue to be an apologist for a govt that doesn’t care.

Yes many of us did need support and some of us had to leave. Beyond sad about this.

Ofsted training taking place this week. Sad to say, there is still a lingering whiff of “not our fault”. Training focus is all about “covering your back” eg. informing lead inspector/making notes/pausing but insisting on evidence. Nothing about changing inspection behaviours!
