Fun first round in the #WHLDraft. I thought Red Deer and Brandon got great value on the NAX defensive duo Wolitski and Jim. Lots of high quality players to keep an eye on tomorrow. Red Deer defenceman Cruz Nicolay would be an early target for me.

Catching up on the #WHLDraft. Love the Red Deer pick of Turchak. Relentless motor, makes plays at speed, and has a lot of room to grow physically. Getting Wolitski and Turchak with their first two picks is a great haul for the Rebels.

A few other excellent value picks from the third round that stand out: Banicevic to Penticton, Papadatos to Everett, Fischer to Prince Albert, and Arndt to Tri- City. #WHLDraft

Cole Krebs is maybe the single player in the draft I'd most go to bat for. Love that pick for Everett. They have such a stockpile of smart and well rounded defenceman. #WHLDraft

One #WHLDraft trend that has surprised me is how the Delta roster is being valued after winning the CSSHL u15 Prep championship. Banicevic & Fischer both went a little lower than I expected. As did Pearson & Peach. Su, Brum, Nicolson and Joslin are all still available.

It’s funny. For a few years I’ve heard “Wait till you see the 2011-born kids in Western Canada” and I’ve always kinda chuckled because parents always be passionate. I did hear it more about the 2011s than others though and I think they are right. It should be a high-end year.
