I've set up a simulation of a Rotman lens to drive a phased array in Elmer. The matching of the ports is poor, causing lots of internal reflections, resulting in unwanted side lobes and poor channel separation. Nonetheless I think it still demonstrates the principle nicely 😊

I sometimes wish I had more than 2 hands, especially when I'm trying to hold 2 meter probes on the back of a switch whilst trying to operate said switch to see if it works. So I came up with this by combining the pencil holder halves of 2 cheap drawing compasses.

Where are the RF experts? I tried to design a 1.700GHz patch antenna and failed. Please refer to KiCAD screenshot for parameters and dimensions from the calculators. Resonance is spot on but impedance is off at 25 Ohms. Can anyone spot my mistake? (Yes I calibrated the VNA)

How about some SSTV? We're planning a Slow Scan Television experiment next week. It's scheduled to start Tue. Oct. 8 and run through Mon. Oct. 14. During the experiment, it will replace APRS on the Service Module ham radio, 145.800 MHz. Details in the graphic.

I did not have the luck to get all 12 images of the last #ISS #SSTV ARISS - Amateur Radio on the ISS event, got many of the already received images double or triple but really nice to have participated in a working event again, thanks to Robbie Ei2iP 🇮🇪 for the template!
