Sgt. Erick Estrada of the Texas Dept of Public Safety tells Anderson Cooper the shooter crashed his car near the school, got out with a gun and wearing body armor, was engaged by law enforcement, but made his way into the school anyway and went classroom to classroom shooting.

This thread will be dedicated to the victims of the mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas. As a parent, my heart is broken seeing these faces and their ages. My condolences to their families during this difficult time 🙏🏻 Xavier Lopez, 10. He was a 4th grader at Robb Elementary.

NEW: A senior member of Twitter’s legal team just posted this message in Slack:“Everyone should know that our CISO, Chief Privacy Officer and Chief Compliance Officer ALL resigned last night. This news will be buried in the return-to-office drama. I believe that is intentional.”

A The Washington Post reporter was able to create a verified account impersonating me—I’m asking for answers from Elon Musk who is putting profits over people and his debt over stopping disinformation. Twitter must explain how this happened and how to prevent it from happening again.

Let's be clear. Eli Lilly should apologize for increasing the price of insulin by over 1,200% since 1996 to $275 while it costs less than $10 to manufacture. The inventors of insulin sold their patents in 1923 for $1 to save lives, not to make Eli Lilly's CEO obscenely rich.

One of your companies is under an FTC consent decree. Auto safety watchdog NHTSA is investigating another for killing people. And you’re spending your time picking fights online. Fix your companies. Or Congress will.

Stephen A. Smith might be right. Maybe it's wrong to judge Jerry Jones for something that happened 65 years ago. Maybe he was just "curious." How could anyone know? A thread.

moments like this should prove to all workers how right wing the media is. they are not for the worker, they side with capital and the bosses every time.

everytime the media blames the railway workers for the potential economic impact of a strike, they're taking the responsibility away from the railroad company execs who could avert a strike by conceding to the reasonable demands the unions are making like getting 7 paid sick days

So here's the thing. You can only violate people's legal rights and your own word so far before they lawyer up and come after you. I really do hope Musk changes his mind and does the right thing - the employees deserve that. But it'll be fun as hell if he doesn't.

It’s wild that landlords can deny people a place to live based on a credit score, but paying rent on time doesn’t count towards people’s credit score.

after reviewing the footage, i can tell you with a certainty that what happened in Memphis is NOT in any way shape or form unique. this is normal policing. its propaganda to state otherwise. they were talking abt beating a man to death in jovial terms BECAUSE they're used to it.
