🥳 Today is International #YouthDay! This year's United Nations theme is digital inclusion & highlights how youngsters drive change using #technology. That’s great, they are. But we still need more digitally skilled people & more tech-related subjects in schools 👇 digitaleurope.org/resources/the-…

Honoured to meet Kateryna Chernohorenko the Deputy Minister of Defence of #Ukraine at #Globsec2024. She is doing a phenomenal work spearheading dual use tech innovation, a true inspiration for the whole of Europe. I look forward to nurturing even more our partnership!
#Globsec starting strong with Petr Pavel and first speech of Ursula von der Leyen after being elected to lead the European Commission for the 2nd time. #Security and #Competitiveness will be crucial topics to discuss. Glad to have Cecilia Bonefeld-Dahl and DIGITALEUROPE in Prague as well.
Today our DG Cecilia Bonefeld-Dahl is at #GLOBSEC2024 in Prague 🇨🇿! Meeting our 🇺🇦 friends. Delving into an ever-important topic for 🇪🇺: security. And hearing from Ursula von der Leyen that “competitiveness is not only essential for our prosperity, but for our long term security too.”
Important message at #GLOBSEC2024 from 🇨🇿 Petr Pavel: “Europe is falling behind in critical technologies.” We need to revert this and lead in #AI, quantum, and chips. This will make the 🇪🇺 not only more innovative and competitive…but also more secure.
“Think big”, says Ursula von der Leyen at #GLOBSEC2024 here in Prague 🇨🇿. To that, I would add: think team. We need to act as a united 🇪🇺 team to master critical technologies (we’re behind), become #aDigitalPowerhouse, and ensure our security in a volatile global environment.
Happy to bump into president Ursula von der Leyen at #GLOBSEC2024 🇪🇺🇨🇿. Congratulations again for your re-election as European Commission lead and good to talk about one of the first decisions of this new term: appointing a #defence commissioner. Good too that we agree on how key it is to
Special to meet at #GLOBSEC2024 with my 🇺🇦 friends Mykhailo Fedorov & Valeriya Ionan and DIGITALEUROPE’s new president Peter Weckesser. We came to Prague to learn about ensuring security and resilience for the 🇪🇺, and Ukraine can teach us about that like only few other
Met Minister for Industry and Trade and 🇨🇿 Commissioner candidate Jozef Síkela in Prague at #GLOBSEC2024 A great champion for the energy transition away from Russian oil and gas. And very knowledgeable on digital. Will be an excellent Commissioner. With our new President
#GLOBSEC2024 continues into Saturday. Excellent discussions on how our defence industries can adapt to tomorrow’s challenges. 🇮🇹 Minister Guido Crosetto and 🇬🇷 minister Nikos Dendias understand the issue. We must work together and focus on how we procure new technologies.
“Resilience is about agility” - Valeriya Ionan “We need to break down barriers between public/private, civil/military” - Nathalie Loiseau We’re exploring how Europe can get back ahead on critical technologies with policymakers and industry leaders Marc Vancoppenolle Peter Weckesser
In how many of the European Commission’s defined critical technologies has the 🇪🇺 a leading role? Spoiler: not many. Hear it from Cecilia Bonefeld-Dahl at #GLOBSEC2024 👇
Nice meeting the fresh nominated candidate EU Commissioner for Belgium Hadja Lahbib in our way to Brussels ✈️. Congratulations and best of luck for the hearings! I hope we can cooperate in the future months and years to make Europe #aDigitalPowerhouse 🇪🇺.
