THIS IS INSANE. Under pressure from Trump, The Smithsonian has REMOVED reference to Trump’s impeachment in their display on impeachment (which includes Clinton, Nixon, Johnson). Just erasing history to appease an authoritarian. Another institution caves.

Pandemic preparedness in the US has been leveled a crippling blow with the cancellation of multiple #BARDA contracts to help develop mRNA vaccines. No other vaccine platform produces vaccine so quickly; without mRNA, Americans will have a long wait for pandemic vax.

Rick Bright (@rickabright) 's Twitter Profile Photo

BARDA invested in mRNA technology precisely because it could deliver safe, scalable vaccines in record time, a capability proven during COVID. By dismantling that platform, we’re crippling our front-line defense, just ahead of unknown biological threats. hhs.gov/press-room/hhs…

A bad day for science, and huge blow to our national security. This decision will have dangerous repercussions. Kennedy Cancels Nearly $500 Million in mRNA Vaccine Contracts nytimes.com/2025/08/05/hea… via @NYTimes Apoorva Mandavilli Jennifer Nuzzo, DrPH Scott Hensley

mRNA vaccines are one of the most important tools we have for preventing future pandemics because we can update them more quickly than any other vaccine technology in response to new viruses & variants. RFK Jr cancelling millions in mRNA research makes the world far less safe.

When the next pandemic hits, and it could happen at any time, remember that Trump/Kennedy did their best to dismantle mRNA preparedness work. It is insane. endpoints.news/kennedy-says-b…

Dr. Katalin Karikó who won a Nobel Prize for developing mRNA vaccines responds to RFK Jr: "When you are sick, you wouldn't ask for advice from a lawyer like Kennedy. You ask experts, your physician, for advice."

The termination of $500 million in mRNA contracts is an absolutely bone-headed move. We will be much less prepared for the next health crisis. There is absolutely no debating that. Especially piled on the revocation in May of a big contract to develop a bird flu vaccine.

I also want to reiterate, over and over again, that no matter what you think about Covid, the government or state responses, lockdowns, masking etc... The mRNA Covid vaccines saved a LOT of lives. Millions in the U.S. And many more millions around the world. That's a fact.

I honestly don’t understand the impulse to roll back progress. "Paul Offit said whole-virus vaccines have been around since the late 1800s, noting that “we make safer, better vaccines” today due to technological advances. Thanks to Aria Bendix nbcnews.com/health/health-…

I've been following and commenting on RFK Jr.'s antivax activities since 2005. He is indeed scientifically illiterate, but he's not easily fooled. He's Dunning-Kruger incarnate and a master of motivated reasoning, and he is also all about the grift.

CO2 monitors have become popular tools people can use to estimate their indoor air quality. A new study was recently published that explores how we can use them to optimise occupancy thresholds and identify problem locations. Actual practical science!!! 🧵

#freedc I returned from the wedding of our daughter to find the city where I have lived for the last 3 years in the midst of a military takeover. The military policing Americans. This is a danger for everyone in our country. Now is the moment to turn out in protest.
