Having delved into python Revit API tomfoolery, is it just me or is the entire structure of the API unnecessarily complex. How do I take a list of elements and get a list of unique types that I can then grab parameters from. Any help would be appreciated

does anyone know where the COBie Toolkit generates the ExtIdentifier from? appreciate we can populate IFCGuid with ifc. Is this stored in an extensible storage somewhere? can't find it
