Modern Palestinians are direct descendants of the indigenous people of the Levant, the very same people who have lived on this land, which is now Palestine and 'israel', continuously for more than 14 000 years

Of course, what you really want to find, 5 days after an archaeological dig has come to am end, is an Iron Age roundhouse 10m across with a door facing SE, it is gorgeous Shame we didn’t see it earlier in the excavation 🀣 #Durotriges25 #Archaeology

A rather large Horse Mandible from the fill of a Chalk Quarry pit. Does this bigger beastie mean it’s a Roman era quarry and not an Iron Age one as IA Ponies were smaller? I’m sure Durotriges Project knows the answer?

The other hunting scene in Room B at Frampton. While the scene posted last Monday showed a stag hunt which *could* have been taking place locally, this one shows a leopard - not known to roam around rural Dorset! So, an amphitheatre scene? 1/2 #MosaicMonday

Following previous posts, this #MosaicMonday shows the two hunting scenes from the mosaic in Room B at Frampton in context. They flank the figure of Bacchus which is mostly lost. He is seated on a leopard. The ends of his cloak and thyrsus are visible. 1/2
