On this day last year, I got a first responder alert on my phone asking me to go to a critical call. It came through as a 3-year old cardiac arrest. I was there in minutes. The call was wrong. It wasn't a 3-year old cardiac arrest. It was a 2-year old. Drowning.

Just realised that it’s #internationaldogday so I’ll share a pic of this rascal. Breagha the rescue Rommie has been with us for 3 and a half years and has enriched our lives beyond measure.

I listened to PM this evening expecting a fulsome tribute to Lord Bragg and got it I also expected to hear Melvis and didn’t. I do hope that he has genuinely left ‘In Our Time’ for his own reasons and nobody else’s. Either way, thanks to him from me and my late mother.

Gutted to hear about the death of Andy Collier, former newspaper political editor and comms adviser to the SNP, at the age of 67. A fellow veteran of pre-devolution Scottish political journalism, Andy was always upbeat, endlessly mischievous and scrupulously polite. A gentleman

🚨 NEW: Netflix secretly recorded an interview with Dr. Jane Goodall in March, set to air only after her death. In it, she says she wishes Trump and Elon Musk could be blasted into space… and closes with: “Don’t lose hope.” Now that’s a final message.

This is a desperately sad story, but for those of us who remember Roy Laidlaw in his heyday, and are aware of his contribution to rugby in Scotland, this article is worth a few minutes of your time.

Not sure how much longer the shorts will remain on but for this afternoon at least it’s pleasantly warm on the terrace outside ⁦Nether Abbey Hotel & Bar⁩ #NorthBerwick #BiarritzoftheNorth

First time with a club in my hands for four months. And it showed. (No change there 🙄). But far outweighed by the absolute joy of playing over the West Links ⁦North Berwick Golf Club⁩ on a lovely autumn afternoon. I never forget what a privilege it is to be able to play here.

A basket of tennis balls beside the west beach in #NorthBerwick A lovely way to keep alive the memory of Lucy who was obviously a much loved dog - I’m sure her spirit still roams the beach chasing tennis balls.
