I just d/c'd a baby who was born at 25 weeks from feeding therapy bc this baby loves the food. I am both elated and sad. Sad bc I'll miss the munchkin but elated bc my job is done for this family. #feedingtherapy #homehealthspeechtherapy

Tonight has been hard on me as a therapist. I've had so many of my precious little ones sick or in the hospital and learned one was due to aspiration pneumonia. We aren't supposed to things personally but I do and I sympathize for my parents.

I have experienced the gamut of emotions this weekend as an SLP ranging from fear to sadness to pure joy. It's emotionally taxing.

Attended what was supposed to be a proceeding for parents to adopt their son without problems. Ended up being postponed to Feb bc bio mom argued procedures via zoom causing heartbreak for all in attendance.

That moment when you learn one of your former Autistic students is now driving independently. #soexcited #proudmamamoment

I thought watching my baby leave for a semester abroad at 16 was hard but that doesn't hold a candle to watching her move away for good and she'll be 12+ hrs away.

Want to make someone's day? Send a message to former clients and let them know you're thinking of them. It will have a huge impact! #homehealthspeechtherapy #connections

I started working w/ a client who thought his speech was 5/10. I just d/c'd him and he grinned as he said he felt his speech was now 10/10 and he was perfectly happy with his overall speech. I'm a bit sad I don't get to work w/ this amazing kid anymore. #homehealthspeechtherapy

I can now say after multiple trials that I don't ever want an electric can opener. I'll take the tried and true manual one thank you.

I just had a parent message me with a precious photo of their child eating solids! I discharged this client 3 months ago and still getting updates. Love this so much!!! #homehealthspeechtherapy

Had a parent reach out to me frustrated bc she had to get her 22 y/o son reevaluated for autism in order for him to begin adult therapy services. He was d/c from pediatric therapists and has not had therapy in 10 months. Seems ludicrous

Had brunch with a kiddo I discharged and his mom. It was such a lovely way to be dismissed from speech aa well as just catch up. I'm so proud of how hard this kiddo worked!!

Sometimes patience is the most important skill to have after surgery, even more so than resiliency. Patience to allow healing take place is vital.

I played with Cheez Whiz, went on a couple Easter egg hunts, peeled the skin of a hot dog, and Raced to the Treasure. How was your day? #homehealthspeechtherapy #slpeeps
