News that the UK will cut aid budgets further to 0.3% of GNI apparently to pay for defence spending is both heartbreaking at a time of rising humanitarian need and 'a big strategic mistake' (as David Lammy called the USAID cuts just a few weeks ago). theguardian.com/us-news/2025/f…
Such a shame to see Anneliese Dodds leave Government. I share her concerns. It was a 'tactical decision', i.e. an active choice, to use aid to pay for arms & it will be impossible to pay for the things the PM promised with what is left of actual aid (minus asylum costs, mulilats)
