1/2 21 Feb. '23: Since 6am heavy fighting is ongoing in Lasanod. The Somaliland forces started shelling the town and subsequently engaged in an attack in the east and southeast of Lasanod, involving technicals and infantery. Attack has been repelled, casualties are reported.

2/2 A medical doctor, Mohamed Husni, who was injured on the second day of fighting in LA, died today from the injuries. Reportedly traditional elders from SL went to Yagoori (Sool) to meet with the Dhulbahante Garads. The Garaads refuse to meet as long as the fighting is ongoing.

I condemn the violence in Las Anod, Somalia, and the deaths of innocent civilians is unacceptable. Violence is never the answer. We must ensure there is access to humanitarian aid to the people of the city of Las Anod.
