Don’t adjust your screen — you’re not seeing double. Twin red pandas have been born at the Detroit Zoo! On June 17, Ravi, a 7-year-old male red panda, and Ginger, a 3-year-old first-time mom, welcomed twin cubs! Stay tuned for more updates!

🚨RED PANDA CUB-DATE🚨 The twins are growing exponentially, getting stronger and fluffier with every passing day! They’ve now figured out how to wiggle around in their nest box, which is a PANDAtastic sign of development!

Set your peepers on this sweet scene from the red panda nest box! 👀 It is such an exciting time for new mom Ginger – her babies have opened their eyes! The twins have also doubled in size since our last update. Ginger is lapping up every moment of motherhood!

This precious moment marks a momentous occasion — Bandia is now the proud mother of the first gorilla born at the Detroit Zoo in our 96-year history! The baby is healthy and thriving under her attentive care and the supervision of our dedicated animal care team.

Bandia has embraced motherhood in a big way and the pair are doing great! She now has the choice to stay in the privacy of the indoor gorilla habitat or venture out to the yard – meaning guests may be able to see mom and baby!

Double the fun! ❤️ ❤️ The nestbox is turning into a red panda play yard and Mama Ginger has to work double time to keep up! If they aren't sleeping or nursing, the cubs are wrestling with each other or playing with their enrichment toys.
