Saying LCMV is more interesting as JC virus is like saying fruit cake is better than carrot cake because it serves as a better door stop. The natural biology of JCV latency is fascinating whereas most people who study LCMV don't even measure viral titres.

Today was the last day of my postdoc, and I was reminded how unique the Belkaid Lab members are. We all have wildly different scientific perspectives, work on completely different tissues, but will all actively contribute intelligently in lab meetings. I'm going to miss them.

Does anyone know if H5N1 has been identified in dry milk cows? It would perhaps clear up routes of transmission, since dry cows have the same anatomy but are not producing milk, thereby are not having the killers placed on them.
