Another example of an “Inappropriate and Dangerous” throw that has no place in the game. Hard to argue against this being a level 2 and penalty runs in ECB cricket!

Here’s an interesting one from the 1st ODI…would you give a no-ball based on this image? Would you consider the heel to be part of the foot? Would you interpret any part of the shoe to be part of the foot? Also, the wording at ICC level suggests any doubt goes to the bowler.

Good luck and go well to all our officials and today in the first league round of the season. We have 97 umpires and a similar number of scorers out in force today, which is the most we have had for a long time.

Congratulations to John Clark who has just become the first and only Umpire to officiate in an ECB Premier game aged 80. John has been a servant to the league since the Premier’s inception in 1999. A greatly respected and high-performing umpire.
