Soldiers from Strike BCT , 101st_Lifeliners , Wings of Destiny and across the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) are on their way to support the people of Asheville, NC and the surrounding area. We are continuing to assist Hurricane Helene relief and aid efforts, led by @FEMA. I want to thank all of our Guardsmen and active-duty troops for their dedication to help our local, state, and federal partners reach those affected as quickly as possible.

Today, approximately 5,000 National Guardsmen from 19 states continue to support #Helene relief efforts, while ~5,000 FloridaNationalGuard members are on duty preparing for Hurricane Milton’s landfall.

In addition to the Department of Defense 🇺🇸's continued efforts to aid Hurricane Helene recovery efforts, we have begun preparations to respond to Hurricane Milton, providing capabilities that best support those needs as identified by the Governors in each of the affected states.

Thank you to the Guardsmen and active-duty service members for stepping up to support local, state, and federal partners aid communities affected by Hurricane Helene. As we prepare for Hurricane Milton, we will continue to play our part to provide assistance to those in need.

I spoke with Rustem Umerov to discuss U.S. support for Ukraine. We discussed the situation along the front lines and the international coalition’s continued support for Ukraine. The U.S. remains committed to providing the support 🇺🇦 needs to be successful on the battlefield.
