Not exactly ancient Egyptian, but I think the demons, daemons, and even some of the deities would enjoy “Creep” Medieval style… youtu.be/TeFiIjMIlRw

Local canine hero Swansea Jack (1930-1937) saved 27 people from drowning. He is the ONLY dog to have been awarded 2 bronze medals (the canine VC) by the National Canine Defence League. He may have lent his name to the nickname for local people – Swansea Jacks. #Swansea #Wales

Our #objectoftheday is this fragment of a faience bowl, of unknown provenance. The decoration features a uraeus (rearing cobra) in front of what appears to be a cabin on a boat - we'd love to hear if people know of examples of Egyptian objects with a similar motif!

Today is the final day of #Hedgehog week, so here is another one of our favourite hedgehogs from our collection. It's from ancient Egypt c. 1500 BC, where hedgehogs are thought to have symbolised rebirth 🦔
