I told friends yesterday that college athletics are in a spot where it’s Natty or bust and that’s sad. Conference titles and beating rivals mean nothing anymore. Nobody enjoys the journey because they are too worried about losing the final game. It didn’t used to be like that.

Jay Johnson told us the days of building a program are gone, and that this year's LSU team was too deep. Now he's focusing on building his team one year at a time. "I want the guy that Skip Bertman was able to red-shirt...the reality of it is that's much more difficult to do."

In this day of the transfer portal all colleges are now having to recruit like junior colleges. A lot will say you can’t build a program, but I’m here to tell you put the wellbeing of the athletes number 1. Love on them, quit chasing wins & put the kids first! See what happens!
