Excellent talk by Nicky Cooper at #BSH2022 on the treatment of Immune Thrombocytopenia #ITP. She discussed the evolution of current treatments and the ones being developed. Avatrombopag is licensed in the UK, but not available on the NHS as it is being considered by NICE.

Nicky Cooper discussed briefly the management of ITP during the COVID pandemic. There is general agreement to avoid immunosuppression and use TPO-RAs early. Also important to give the vaccinations before Rituximab. #BSH2022 #ITP #COVID19
