1811: The Baptist Society in Dedham and Medfield was incorporated.

1835: 13 members of the First Church were dismissed, and joined the Spring Street Church in West Roxbury.

1705: A new street was laid out from Saw Mill Road down to the Brook.

1663: In return for giving up 2k acres in Natick to Christian Indians, court grants 8k acres to Dedham in Pocumtuck, or today's Deerfield.

1775: Samuel Farrington of Springfield Parish marched at Bunker Hill. He would later fortify Dorchester Heights, and serve at Ticonderoga.

1793: Norfolk County is established and Dedham is made the shiretown.

1695: William Avery is repaid 13 shillings and 6 pence for money he lent to buy glass and nails for the meetinghouse.

1650: Nathan Aldis, covenant signer and variously a Fence Viewer and Selectman, becomes one of the first deacons of the Church.

1728: Josiah Kingsbury and 24 others took measures to build a school for children in the western part of town, pursuant to a May 20 TM vote.

1776: General George Washington orders that the night's parole word to be "Dedham." The countersign is "Essex."

1927: Sacco and Vanzetti are moved from the Dedham jail to the Charlestown State Prison, where they will be executed in August.

1755: Eleazer Ellis of Dedham was fighting the French & Indian War on Long Island, NY, when he found a gun in the river. He died at Ft Lyman

1676: Troops return to Boston after slaughtering a number of Indians in the "woods near Dedham."

1841: Mr & Mrs Hall of Boston threw a large party at MacIntire's Hotel, where they were boarding. Ice cream was served.

1898: A new bathhouse on Mother Brook was turned over to the Park Commission.

1826: Pres John Quincy Adams led memorial procession from Alden's Hotel to church where Horace Mann gave a eulogy for J Adams and T Jefferson.

1805: A year after the Norfolk & Bristol Turnpike opens, running down Court Street, we see the first mention of Marsh's house as a Tavern.

1836: The Assistant Marshals of the 200th Anniversary Celebration gathered at Alden's Hotel to prepare for the September 21st party.
