Congratulations to Dr. Jianyu Li for winning the President’s Prize for Outstanding Emerging Researchers! Professor Li leads the Lab of Biomaterials Engineering at McGill University, performing interdisciplinary research in mechanics, materials, and biomedical engineering.

Five current DECAR students and one DECAR alumni attended the American Control Conference (ACC) in Toronto last week! It was a great opportunity to chat with other researchers in the field and share insights in the fields of control, automation, and applied mathematics.

Last week was an exciting time at the International Symposium on Mathematical Programming (ISMP) in Montreal! Louis Lortie, Steven Dahdah and Sepehr Moalemi attended along with Prof. Forbes. and presented some of their optimization-related research.

The DECAR team spent a weekend enjoying the summer weather at a lake north of St. Raymond, Quebec! It was a game-filled weekend with lots of good discussions between new and old faces in the lab. Big thanks to Louis for hosting!

Professors Forbes’ last day at #ICRA40 was a great success! He had the opportunity to present collaborative work with Voyis and the University of Michigan, as well as connect with colleagues Silvère Bonnabel and Pieter van Goor and discuss various Kalman filter details!
