Whenever I see sugar packets on the table, I feel a small sense of relief—another backup option for treating a low blood sugar (“hypo”) if needed. I’ve even been known to stash a few in my purse, just in case. When you’re on an insulin pump, insulin is used to lower blood sugar,

It’s that time of year - people asking us about #bumblebees - WHY THEY’RE SEEING THEM ON THE GROUND - so here’s a thread to explain what they’re up to. Please #retweet. Every #queen that survives means a new colony that gets to exist & produce new queen #bees for next year! So

With most hedgehogs only just beginning to appear after hibernation, it seems too early to talk about babies. But the lack of natural food last year left a lot of hedgehogs sick and underweight, and unable to hibernate. Some have already mated and had babies. Rescues all over the

In light of this from Nick Triggle based on a survey from NHS Providers bbc.co.uk/news/articles/… Mentioning “cutting of #Diabetes care in young people” A message for all - especially parents/carers of those with #T1D Please be assured (And an ask to BBC News (UK) to avoid

i feel like non-diabetics don’t realise just how many things affect us, it’s not just food it’s hormones, the weather, stress, working out, sleep and illness, just to name a few. we have so much to focus on and then we have to deal with diabetes stigma on top of all of that

Yup, this is a real thing people (men and women) with type 1 and type 2 diabetes deal with! Maybe he assumes we’re sick and weak. Oh, but it shines a bright light on ignorance and small-minded thinking. 🔦 But it’s real: “I avoided dating for so long because I didn’t want to

#GBDoc Information on who is/isn't eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine in the UK this Autumn and in future (link in tweet). Those with diabetes are no longer eligible unless above 75 and/or another condition causes them to be immunocompromised (see list in link).

As we are in September now, and the start of the 'autumn orphan' baby hedgehog season, I thought I'd repost this example from last year, as a warning: "This is such a sad story, every time I think of what this poor girl has suffered, I cry. Found as a baby on the road, out in

Is it just me, or can about 9 out of 10 questions asked on ResearchGate be answered by asking if appropriate positive and negative controls were included? It seems these days like students don't get taught about the proper design of experiments at all!

Please do NOT be taken in by this account claiming to raise money for charities. Mr Lumpy is NOT a ‘sanctuary’; it is a couple who feed wild animals in their garden, something plenty of us do without expecting to be paid for it! Do your research!

This is just pure exploitation of an autistic person Waitrose & Partners. He has effectively been working a part time job for you for over 4 years now, but he has not been paid a penny for it and it doesn't look like he ever will be paid in future . BBC News (UK) feel like investigating this?
