Strong to severe storms are expected overnight tonight. Primary hazards are high winds and large hail. A couple tornadoes are possible. Now is a good time to ensure that you have a way to receive weather warnings while you are sleeping.

As we get closer to storm start time, how are you receiving your weather alerts? *Remember outdoor sirens are not designed to be heard indoors? #mowx #kswx

For anyone that uses NOAA Weather Radio and tune into the Cameron station (162.475), it is currently not broadcasting. The Maryville station (162.425) should be a good backup option.

The severe threat for the evening has come to a close. The environment is no longer supportive of severe weather; however, winds with the passing line of storms may gust upwards of 40-50 MPH. #mowx #kswx

It is June after all, but it's still pretty warm out there. If you're out and about, be sure to wear light colored clothing, drink lots of hydrating fluid, and stay out of the direct sunlight as much as possible.

Expect heat indices across the area as high as 105-110 this afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms will also be possible Friday afternoon and evening. Widespread severe weather is unlikely, however a few storms could produce gusty winds. Cooler weather returns this weekend.
