Congratulations to Rachel Johnson who was awarded the VC Jordan / PR Radford Prize for the best PhD thesis in the Understanding Life in Molecular Detail! Her research focussed on the role of #cryoEM as a tool for structure-based drug design.

Phd opportunity alert ⬇️👍🎉 Want to come and work with Stephen Muench Michele Darrow and myself, developing and using cool #cryoEM technologies to study membrane and membrane associated proteins? Read on... findaphd.com/phds/project/d… #phdlife #AcademicChatter #AcademicTwitter #phdchat

Our work on endocytosis adaptor proteins is now on bioRxiv 🥳 Great collaboration with Javier, EMBL, @SkruznyLab and Svergun Group. And with Stephen Muench and Frank Sobott, of course! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Took a while to get around the preferred orientation of HSPD1 but good to see the hard work of David Klebl and the team Matthew Feasey Emma Hesketh Robin Bon Neil Ranson Frank Sobott finally out. cell.com/iscience/fullt…

How do middle coat adaptor proteins assemble and contribute to remodel the plasma membrane? Take a look at our manuscript in Nature Comms. ➡️ nature.com/articles/s4146… #endocytosis EMBL Hamburg Frank Sobott Svergun Group David Klebl Stephen Muench @SkruznyLab CSSB

Our new paper is online 🥳 We show how to prepare EM grids for a broad range of timepoints, to achieve time-resolved cryo-EM. Stephen Muench Frank Sobott

I'm glad we could make a small contribution to this work: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/jm… Very different from our usual samples... ⏱️-❄️🔬 of 💎 Stephen Muench

We're hiring! This new role will be involved in all aspects of facility operation with a focus on working with users to advance structural MS and proteomics projects on our new Orbitrap Eclipse and established UHMR platforms. Find out more and apply at: jobs.leeds.ac.uk/vacancy.aspx?r…

Really enjoyed visiting Leeds for the #AstburyRetreat, and it was so nice to see everyone again Understanding Life in Molecular Detail!

The paper is now online in its revised form Nature Methods: nature.com/articles/s4159… . Many thanks to the anonymous reviewers and Rita Strack for the nice review experience. And shoutout to twitterless Oda, JP, and Christoph Kaiser! It has been a fun journey. 🥳🥳🥳🥳🎉

Really happy to finally share this work! Started some time ago by Howard White, I worked on this during my PhD with Stephen Muench and now completed by Charlie Scarff's group 🙂 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
