Hi all, my lab at UC Riverside is recruiting PhD students for Fall 2025! These positions will be fully funded and include NIH-funded projects on recombination rate evolution and chromosomal inversions. Get in touch with me at [email protected], and please RT!

Congratulations, Dr. Denis Gitonga! Proud moment for our lab as you defended your PhD in Nematology at the University of Florida this afternoon!

Congratulations to Mahnoor for successfully defending her dissertation on Effects of Cultivars and Fungicides on Foliar Fungal Diseases and Fusarium Head Blight in Winter Wheat! We are so proud of you Dr. Asif! 🌾🎓 #PhDAchievements UNL Department of Plant Pathology University of Nebraska CASNR University of Nebraska-Lincoln

Big congratulations to Xin Zhi Khoo from Teddy Garcia-Aroca, Ph.D. lab on successfully defending her MS thesis! 🎉 Your hard work and dedication have paid off, and your research on Rhizoctonia solani is inspiring. We are proud of you & best wishes for your next chapter! UNL Department of Plant Pathology

Excited to celebrate Pratibha Karki from Dylan Mangel lab on successfully defending her Master thesis! 🌱 Her work on Soybean Cyst Nematode and resistance sources in Nebraska is incredible. Wishing her all the best for her future endeavors! #gradschool UNL Department of Plant Pathology

🌱 Excited about Plant pathology, Genomics, CRISPR? Join our #PhD project John Innes Centre & industry partner "Tackling downy mildew in peas" - Explore resistance genes, susceptibility factors, & host-pathogen dynamics. Apply by 17 Dec 2024! Details: shorturl.at/YIfHy

Big congratulations to kelvin muchiri for winning 1st place in the graduate student category for his poster presentation at the 4th Annual UNL Microbiology Research Symposium! Outstanding work on Fusarium diversity-well deserved! UNLMicro UNL Department of Plant Pathology Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources University of Nebraska CASNR

🌱Incredible seminar today by Dohee from Korea University, a visiting scholar at Saet-Byul Kim lab. She presented on Discovering the Role of RIN4-like/NOI-containing Proteins in Plant Innate Immunity, exploring how these proteins contribute to plant defense mechanisms.

🚀Great flash talk by Libia F. Gómez-Trejo today! She presented on the non-host response of sorghum to 🌽 maize common rust, highlighting key insights into plant resistance mechanisms. Exciting research from Saet-Byul Kim Lab at UNL! Looking forward to more data from this work!

From fighting plant pathogens to unlocking microbial superpowers, today’s seminar was nothing short of inspiring! Big shoutout to Shilu Dahal from Eric Rojas lab for an engaging talk on biocontrol of plant pathogens. Sometimes, even superheroes need help just like our microbes! 🌱🦠

10 Years of Impact! As the UNESCO 🏛️ #Education #Sciences #Culture 🇺🇳 marks 10 years of the #International Day of Women & Girls in Science,NemAfrica also celebrates 10 years of groundbreaking research! We’re proud to uplift women in nematology-empowering the next generation of scientists. #hervoiceinscience

The countdown starts NOW!⏳ A 24-hour run to support our students in their professional development. Spread the word and donate a gift to make a difference!
