In RE this week, EYFS dressed up as who they would like to be when they are older! We looked at our baby pictures and discussed how much we have changed! We learnt that Christians believe that God has a plan for us all and we read a passage from Jeremiah 29:11. 🙏

EYFS had a mystery guest today. We learnt all about what it would feel like if we were deaf. Then we made our very own cochlear implant to try out. 🥰

In Worship today, the whole school gathered to talk about Black History Month. We learned about The Parable of The Good Samaritan and how Bukayo Saka, a Black footballer, condemned racism and encouraged others to stand up for fairness and equality, being a friend to all ✊🏿💡

Our artist study is Thomas J Price. He wanted to break stereotypes in art, particularly sculpture. So his work represents modern day black people. In Y5 and 6 we have begun making our own sculptures in his style. #davenhamart

Year 5 and 6 have spent Diwali day exploring light vs dark and good vs evil. We have explored how light is such a significant symbol in many world faiths. Light brings hope, guidance and love to so many. #davenhamre
