The Republican Party's position, as I understand it: Senator Kelly is a seditionist; the January 6 rioters are patriots. Do I have that straight?

Historians may conclude that Americans simply got bored with freedom, stability, and prosperity -- the fruits of ordered liberty -- and said, "Let's just burn the whole thing down." An act of national and historic vandalism.

And when you read stories like this, remember that these poorly-trained federal agents enjoy sweeping immunities from civil suits when they violate your constitutional rights. Incompetence plus immunity equals injustice.

Just remember that it took 3.5 trillion dollars and 20 years to replace the Taliban with the Taliban. Let that sink in.. theguardian.com/world/2026/mar…

Trump & Co. never miss a chance to insult Zelensky -- who is leading a country trying to save itself from annihilation (by an enemy of the U.S.). "P.T. Barnum," Trump calls him (like he should talk). Tell me, Republicans: What is our president's insulting nickname for Putin?

Hegseth today: We don't actually have any clear purpose or guideposts or objectives in mind, the metrics are shifting...but "we are just getting started." Yikes.

"The reforms they’re seeking—badges and body cameras, that they lose their masks, that they be investigated for misconduct—are utterly reasonable...Americans don’t like what DHS has been up to. Dems should aim higher than just getting a scalp from Noem." open.substack.com/pub/thebulwark…

The Pentagon should not flinch from reporting, or acknowledging, the deaths of our servicemen. The public can take it. What the public wants to know, I think, is the purpose of a war. And whether the war is, in fact, a war. Word games can be insulting.

russia providing iran with targeting assistance against the us military. us reducing sanctions on russian oil export. quite the both/and for putin.

"Trump was animated when describing the bloodied and mangled bodies. This obsession...is a hallmark of right-wing politics in America...America's descent into lawless, violent government is at least a little bit a story of psychosexual unmooring." liberalcurrents.com/pervert-politi…

This guy is not qualified to run anything. He has no idea how good his genetics are and how bad he almost completely ruined them.

ian bremmer (@ianbremmer) 's Twitter Profile Photo

a surprisingly good month for putin. russia making bank on oil, gas. fertilizer. us sanctions suspended. us weapons now prioritized for iran war. russia supporting iran without consequence. and a russian tanker with oil now allowed through to cuba by the americans.

"Carry on, patriots." The blatant politicization of the U.S. military will have bad, bad effects in the future. Our norms, our mores, our way of life -- people'll miss all that when it's gone. But they can't know it now, I fear.

Bill Kristol (@billkristol) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I assume that tonight Trump will head for the exits in Iran. He may try to disguise the retreat by announcing the U.S. is leaving NATO, which Trump will present as a liberation from ungrateful allies and a victory for America First. So he'll make a bad outcome far worse.

Jay Nordlinger (@jaynordlinger) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I don't think a U.S. president ought to cite a murderous, totalitarian, anti-American dictator against his predecessor. This is another thing that makes me a dinosaur.

Hundreds of billions more in waste and fraud—at taxpayer expense. Remember when this administration pretended it was going to bring down the national debt?

To slightly adapt Orwell: The Supreme Court told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was its final, most essential command.
