Congratulations to DSI Affiliates Kaiping Chen (@kaipingchen.bsky.social) and Pallavi Tiwari, and collaborator Felix Elwert, on receiving Vilas professorships and awards!

Emeritus Professor Grace Wahba recently received the International Prize in Statistics in recognition of her groundbreaking work on smoothing splines, which transformed data analysis and machine learning. Wahba joined UW–Madison Statistics in 1967 as its first female faculty member.
