Three years on since Government published the Harm Panel report but progress has been too slow. We urgently need family court reform to better protect victims and children Ministry of Justice

Part 3 of the #VictimsBill does not address the issues faced by victims and families at this stage of their journey. As stated by Anna McMorrin MP this Bill was meant for victims. Govt should scrap Part 3 and put the money into part 1 of Bill to help victims access justice & support

Today I gave evidence Lords Committee on Justice and Home Affairs and spoke about the impact on bereaved families when offenders refuse to attend sentencing. Govt committed to bring forward legislation to force offenders to face the families. Govt must act swiftly Killed Women

“Campaigners are calling for pupils to hear directly from the parents of knife victims as part of a souped-up drive.. to end the bloodshed. They want the subject made a stand-alone part of the curriculum”. A reminder that we back KnifeSavers express.co.uk/news/uk/180208…

In Merseyside, we deal with around 1,000 dog bites every year! We want Merseyside to be more dog aware & that means parents teaching their children how to behave around dogs & dog owners ensuring they can control their dog at all times More info here ➡️ orlo.uk/oCaCy

Victims can feel more able to support a prosecution with the right support and care. I suspect the previous five victims did not receive this. Although a good result, it’s important to understand what could have been done earlier to prevent a sixth victim. news.met.police.uk/news/teenager-…

We firmly believe in violence prevention, but sometimes, treating it becomes a priority. This vital training from Nikhil Misra KnifeSavers shows our young people how to react in an emergency whilst highlighting the gravely tragic consequences of carrying & using a knife.

It's not quite a man being hit by a pigeon but here's a video I made highlighting the vital education work on the consequences of carrying a knife being provided across Merseyside by KnifeSavers & Nikhil Misra

A moving and powerful vigil remembering all those who have lost their lives to serious violence. I was honoured to say a few words and pay tribute to the tireless efforts of the families to tackle serious violence and make our communities safe for all. Danny's place#P4C
