I can't tell you how proud I am of the team at Newham for their efforts yesterday. The ED took the brunt of the pressure but it was a whole hospital response. All specialties, departments and staff groups pulled together and ensured every patient was kept safe and well cared for.

It was a privilege to meet with Health Minister Karin Smyth, along with local MPs Uma Kumaran MP and James Asser MP, yesterday. We discussed the challenges posed by our rapidly growing population and the initiatives we are implementing to meet the evolving needs of our community.
