This really is astonishing - the government need to either own it and admit they don’t see it as a conscience issue, or explicitly retract this.

A superb speech. But, it was an adjournment debate speech which are almost always to entirely empty chamber. They’re a chance for an MP to speak to an issue of importance to them or their constituents. The empty chamber is no reflection on the speech!
