This seems like a normal scene on the Apple website until you realize that the computer in this image is $300 cheaper than the *piece of metal* that the screen is sitting on

In the name of security we get locked out of a local API yet again. Shame on you TP-Link. Got an alternative lined up that isn’t cloud based?

In case you missed it today... AWS Lambda is now billed in 1ms increments instead of 100ms increments. Perfect time to ship a serverless Laravel app on Vapor! 👏 vapor.laravel.com

Dear Saas owners, Every month I have to go to your site, to download the invoice for the month and forward it to our accountant. Please, for the love of the one you worship, add a field to specify to which email address invoices of your service will be mailed. Thanks!

I'd rather we put people before code. Authors of software have the right to do whatever they want with their labor. They can sell it as commercial, provide it for completely free, OR do *something in between*.

I love this take from Taylor Otwell in his latest Laravel Snippet. He's totally right. At its core Inertia.js is just a client-side routing library, and even then, it's a very simple one, since it builds on top of your existing server-side routing.

I was at Amzn in 2000 when the internet bubble popped. Capital markets dried up & we were burning $1B/yr. Our biggest expense was datacenter -> expensive Sun servers. We spent a year ripping out Sun & replacing with HP/Linux, which formed the foundation for AWS. The backstory:

I'm back from a week at my mom's house and now I'm getting ads for her toothpaste brand, the brand I've been putting in my mouth for a week. We never talked about this brand or googled it or anything like that. As a privacy tech worker, let me explain why this is happening. 🧵

If you’re like me you might have had a hard time cutting through the noise to understand exactly what is going on. This is a very good piece breaking down exactly what Apple is doing, and what they can and cannot see. A good 101 before convos about pros and cons and slopes.
