Benchmarks are mostly on coding and math and general knowledge. No one is benchmarking AI for its most common uses, like that people are relying on AI for psychological support and advice. Also ignoring higher order uses like creativity, learning, and strategy. So much missing.

Want to ban AI? You will need more in-class assignments, discussions and tests for assessment. Want to allow AI? Make sure it doesn’t compromise your learning objectives. Want to require AI? You will need to build and test prompts & approaches and then explain and assign them.
