Firefighters are working to extinguish a semi-trailer that caught fire on I-44 HWY WB just east of I-35 HWY. 4:15p.m.

The driver was able to detach his semi from the trailer. This fire did create multiple spot fires in the grass about a mile long. No injures have been reported. 4:22p.m.

Proceed with caution while driving in the area. Crews will remain on scene for an extended period to extinguish all the spot fires. I-44 WB is down to one lane. 4:26p.m.
