Exactly 90 days after been fined £90 million for illegally dumping sewage into the environment this from the Daily Express "Britons bathing in sewage! Southern Water pumps waste into coastal bathing spots." express.co.uk/news/uk/150236…

Constituents shouldn’t have to put up with ‘abnormal events’ in our bathing waters or sewage discharge in the Solent by Southern Water. Our natural spaces are crucial for the health and wellbeing of society. My latest action to get Government to do more, and do better👇🏻

Just when @Defra, Ofwat & Environment Agency thought it might all be over. "Water firms pump a fifth less cash into sewage works despite leaks and rising bills". dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…

I wish call centres would stop playing automatic messages saying "sorry we are taking longer to answer your call than normal" EVERY time we call. This should not be set up as a default. If it is a default then delay isn't longer than normal, it is normal!

Has the EA just given up completely or do they really think it’s reasonable to abandon a local community group to debate, discuss and negotiate the survival of a chalk stream with the very people responsible for its destruction? Outrageous.

To those British politicians who want to cut the BBC and question its future: new figures show the audience for the BBC’s Russian language news website more than tripled its year-to-date weekly average, with a record reach of 10.7m people in the last week (compared to 3.1m).

All of them, all of them, Defra UK, Ofwat, Environment Agency and Southern Water should hang their heads in shame and by God do they have a lot to answer for. Every beach in East Sussex between Brighton and Hastings has now been issued with a sewage alert. sussexlive.co.uk/news/sussex-ne…

⚠️😡Make no mistake, we are angry. This Government has today launched an attack on nature. We don’t use the words that follow lightly. We are entering uncharted territory. Please read this thread. 1/13

Make no mistake - we are also incredibly angry. We stand with RSPB England in calling out the unprecedented attack on nature launched by UK Government over the last few days. We’ll be challenging this together and asking for our supporters to stand with us.

Staff at the Bumblebee Conservation Trust were utterly dismayed to see last week’s announcements from the UK Government that they intend to downgrade environmental protections. (1/6)

EA "reveals why River Foss in York is bright green", "duchweed", but it is "little risk to the environment". It's the subterfuge that angers. Duckweed is symptomatic of too much nutrient in a river. In this case, yep, sewage discharge. Who knew. yorkpress.co.uk/news/23065178.…

Welcome to England's rivers, this one being the soar. Nothing more than a public sewer. Well done to those ultimately responsible for this. You should be ashamed and jailed. #sewage #pollution #environment #rivers
