I repeat my call for a humanitarian ceasefire in the Middle East, the unconditional release of all hostages, and the delivery of life-saving supplies at the scale needed. Everyone must assume their responsibilities. This is a moment of truth. History will judge us all.

Today is #FuelPovertyAwarenessDay and we’ve commissioned some polling to understand how households are coping, or more likely not coping, 2 years into the energy crisis. A quick thread on what we found

We want to see more awareness and better resourcing of the crucial role played by environmental health professionals in tackling poor housing conditions in all types of tenure, thereby reducing ill health and saving lives. 2/2

Good news that the price of energy is coming down. But why is the spark gap (the ratio between gas and electricity pricing getting wider) through the year? 3.9 up to 4.37? It means you need a much better SCOP with your heat pump to make it cheaper to run. Surely someone

This is a great piece on the many challenges of renovating big apartment buildings and it applies across Europe. France began a great programme years ago called coachcopro.com which has been emulated in numerous other countries/cities

Does the EPBD 2025 ban on new govt financial incentives for stand alone fossil fuel boilers cover Energy Efficiency Obligations? (am comparing to UK where our EEO certainly supports gas boilers)? Looked at great new BPIE Buildings EU guide but doesn't go to that detail.

Ordinary people whose lives are still pulled apart because their homes remain unsafe; 7 years after Grenfell fire. Unless it affects you or someone you love you may think it is sorted. It is not.

This is a major national energy policy failure and rapid action is needed. Undoubtedly this will also be a red in the Climate Change Committee's annual progress report later this year.

I am hugely pro-abolition of leasehold but I get the sense from reading a lot of stuff on here that leaseholders think that service charges and painfully large bills for maintenance/repair would go away if leasehold were abolished and....I think they'll be disappointed

making sure retrofit people have seen the govts NPPF planning consultation, closes today - proposes more than doubling household planning fee. AFAICS will affect any situation where no PDR - EG where 2 external a2a heat pump units are needed or window replacement on flats.
