On going eviction saga unfolding in Stoneybatter since early this morning. Following a violent eviction attempt one occupant of 23 Prussia Street remains on the roof subject to cold wind but refusing to surrender her home without a fight. Support needed now, probably all day.

A barrage of bricks thrown and multiple ladders mounted on the building the remaining occupant has been dragged off the roof, almost killed in the process. Guards standing by doing nothing.

The Bailiffs fled with their tail between their legs! The space is ours again. We’d ask that people come out again at 6pm to show support and really hammer home that we will not tolerate evictions in our communities!! Thank you so much, yous are all legends!

CATU North Belfast branch would like to extend solidarity to ThatSocialCentre , down in Dublin, who have suffered violence and brutality today from Garda-backed bailiffs. Profiteers gladly allow derelict eyesores in our communities, until the people make better use of the space.

Some photos of 23 Prussia St now. The space has been taken back but it’s been badly damaged. People that live there say bedrooms have been covered in oil, every toilet has been smashed and windows and appliances have been broken. Spaces used for community events…

"Vision statement" from the McGrath Group - which shares 4 directors & an address with Randalswood Construction Ltd - the people planning to develop the site of today's eviction & likely the people responsible for sending hired goons there this morning. Quite the discrepancy!

From ThatSocialCentre : "We’ve taken back the space, but the damage is bad. They’ve covered everyone’s rooms in oil, smashed every toilet, every appliance, every window, and worst of all, torn up all the spaces we use for community events. They even sawed into the roof..."
