Last week my university @UGent approved non-competitive research financing for all professors. The idea is that each professor (all ranks) would receive a yearly amount of research funding of ca. 30.000 euro (so two professors can jointly hire one PhD student). 1/2

We can have a debate about the quality of university courses. But the first question to a politician advocating fewer kids go to university is to ask them where they went/where their kids go/went. Too often they’re not talking about themselves or their kids, but someone else’s.

As someone who grew up in a large family I know how difficult it can be. As a party we must put tackling child poverty at the heart of everything we do. Scrapping the two child limit would lift hundreds of thousands of children out of poverty, it's that simple.
