In my years of engagement in the Agricultural sector, both as a farmer and consultant, I have learnt a number of profound lessons on how skills gained in farming can serve as a useful tool for a successful life and business.

Farming is principally an art of faith – committing a seed into the soil in anticipation of bountiful harvest. This art of faith often takes patience and perseverance before reaping the fruits of the seeds planted.

Far from parable, it teaches us the basis that, getting the best out of our endeavours will required sowing ourselves practically to the cause we firmly believed.

Diligence - Diligence in other words is not a talent, it is a skill that is acquired especially through the rigours of hard work.  Often said that, planting a seed is not enough, nurturing it to maturity is the end goal.

To attain this desired growth for the plant, its imperative to invest time and resources to ensure all factors such as weeds, pests and diseases are kept off the farm.  Irrespective of the situation surrounding us, we must strengthen our hands and never weak.

Aptness, seasons and times - Its evident that you cannot be a successful farmer without been a good planner. In calculus, Successful farmer is directly proportional to s good planner given the fact that, time is a critical factor in farming.

Often referenced, there is time for everything under the sun, a time to plant and a time to reap.  The climatic control is beyond humans and consequently, we must take effective advantage of the seasons - a season to plant and harvest.

The above scenario, applies to personal life and businesses. It reminds us not to live our life on promises but ultimately, walk aptly and seek to response to the demands of the seasons. The year is winding up and a new year is coming.

A peep into the future revealed that planting will begin as soon as the early rain started next year. Be ready to be effective and efficient in the coming seasons. Hence, we need to stop making excuses when others are planting and harvesting.

Bottom-line-:Solve the issue of open grazing first and expect peace to come. Herders trying desperately to survive. They keep trespassing on lands they are not native of. Farmers and landowners want to survive and are shocked to see cattle everywhere. Conflict would occur surely

The folks who derailed that brilliant Plan - National Livestock Transformation Plan are the root of these current issues. If we had worked on that plan properly , we won't be here currently.

The #ACAT2025 Kigali was electrifying last week. It was an honour to be invited as a speaker in two of the panel sessions, where I shared key messages on putting resources in the hands of young people to empower them to create, adopt, and scale #NextGenAgTech solutions.

Imagine! Stealing fish & concealing it in trunk. A farmer would brave all economic challenges to raise fish & some elements would go steal them. Fish farming is susceptible to this from a lot; you won’t how your fish is missing. NaijaFarmer Fisherwoman™ ~greedy farmer™~ Àwé Alágbo™ CAC-OFR
