Andrew Lees Gavin Mogan «Le Saint de bois» Pierre D was the man in the cartoon - first photographed in Salpêtrière and then Gower’s 1886 sketch went ‘viral’. Onset in his 40s and the drawing is from late 50s. It is far from perfect and lacks non-motor nuance but still an important part of our history.
