I was delighted to receive the CEO of UBA Cameroon, Mr Jude Anele JudeAnele this day. Although we appreciate the partnership between our institutions, we look forward to strengthening it. This will enable CRID-Cam to further perform its activities locally and internationally.

« Making functional genomic techniques accessible to African scientists » is the theme of the 2nd AVecGen workshop launched today in CRID premises. The course to be delivered to a cohort of 15 participants will last 5 days, combining theorical principles and practical learning.

I was glad to receive Dr Richard Somiari, President of ITSI-Biosciences at CRID. We identified a lot of potential routes of collaboration. This will improve procurement of scientific supplies, reagents and equipments which are key for efficient research activities in Africa.

I was glad to receive Pr. Benjamin Koudou from CSRS CĂ´te d'Ivoire CĂ´te d'Ivoire. We explored paths of collaboration between our institutions as we aim to mutually support each other. This will reinforce South-South collaboration, which is key for research.

Today, I signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Centre Pasteur du Cameroun. The aim is to promote scientific collaboration on infectious diseases and enhance research through joint projects. This will boost our competitiveness in the research field, as uniting strengths makes us stronger.

It was a pleasure to meet Dr. Albert Zeh Meka, the new Permanent Secretary of Cameroon's National Malaria Control Program. We discussed pursuing collaboration as our shared goal is that scientific evidence we generate serves the entire country in effectively combatting malaria.
