Congrats to all star Duke University School of Medicine student and fellow #regeneration enthusiast Tommy Dvergsten for being awarded the Burroughs Wellcome Fund Research Fellowship! Courtesy of Office of Physician Scientist Development

Wrapping up a fantastic workshop on targeted muscle reinnervation at NYU. Props to Kyle Eberlin, Jacque Hacquebord, and Omri Ayalon for directing and Checkpoint Surgical for sponsoring. Inspiring to see so many ortho and plastic surgeons committed to improving amputation care!

We have a great postdoc experience available! Comparative regeneration models using zebrafish fins, mouse digit tips, and human tissue specimens. Zebrafish and mouse genetics, functional genomics, and imaging. Co-mentoring by a practicing plastic surgeon David A. Brown, MD, PhD. Pls share!

Heading back from the epic #limb2022 conference on limb evo/devo and regeneration. So fun to connect with others in the field. Bringing home lots of great ideas as well as my spirit animal for the week Alice Axolotl. Thanks to Jessica Whited and @JessicaLehoczky for organizing!

Fantastic talk this morning by my partner/mentor/friend Suhail Mithani on surgical management of the mangled upper extremity. I keep telling him that one day all that surgical wizardry will be unnecessary because we can just regenerate them! But might be a couple more years.

Congratulations to @Michael_Lidsky, Sabino Zani, MD, FACS, and the entire Duke #HAI team, who have successfully implanted 100 pumps to treat patients with advanced hepatic malignancies, a significant milestone for Duke Health. | Peter Allen | Duke Cancer | Duke Surgical Oncology

Awesome science today at the Duke Regeneration Center symposium. Whether hearts, brains, limbs, liver, skin, etc - someone is working on how to regrow it after injury

Thanks to Dr Gregory Borschel for a fun visit to Duke and a riveting talk on corneal innervation surgery for our Barwick lectureship. Transcending boundaries of plastics and ophtho. 10/10 for innovation and gross eyeball videos
